ex-Naval officer attacked by armed men

Hyderabad: A retired Navy officer was attacked by three unidentified men in Humayun Nagar on Wednesday night.
The victim, Ikramuddin Kaleem, 56, is staying with his family at Elegance Apartments and had returned from the Numaish exhibition and was parking his vehicle when the assailants attacked him. According to the police, three men chased and attacked him while he was parking the car in his apartment.
“Ikramuddin Kaleem retired 20 years ago. On Wednesday night, the accused came with swords and attacked him,” said the police, and added that a land dispute might have led to the incident.
Mr Kaleem was later shifted to a private hospital in Banjara Hills and is undergoing treatment. The Humayun Nagar police booked a case under relevant sections of the IPC. Special teams are deployed to arrest the suspects.
