Hyderabad : Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao starts promoting eco-friendly Ganesha idols for festival.
"Hyderabad should set an example to other cities in promoting clay idols" he said at Shilpakala Vedika.
KTR said the idea to invite students to promote clay idols among youngsters and continue the practice during the upcoming years.
GHMC,HMDA and the Pollution Control Board would establish stalls in different locations to distribute the clay idols.
The GHMC constructed baby ponds at a cost of Rs 22 crore to reduce pollution in Hussainsagar and other water bodies in the city.
