Former Congress minister and BJP Mahbubnagar MP candidate D.K. Aruna accused former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy and TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy of being responsible for the state of affairs in the state Congress. Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, Ms Aruna said the two party seniors were responsible for several leaders leaving the party. She said that Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy met former minister and MLA Sabita Indra Reddy but did not request her not to leave the party.

D.K Aruna alleged that Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy encouraged a group against her in Mahbubnagar district. “Jaipal Reddy buried the Janata Dal in the past and now he is on the job of burying the Congress,” the former legislator said.

Ms Aruna said that some TRS leaders had approached her to join the party. She said the BJP was growing as an alternative to the TRS, which is why she had joined it. She said she would work to strengthen the BJP in the state and said the party would win a respectable number of seats in the general elections.
